| On
June 12, the United Way of King County announced a campaign
to raise $25 million over the next two years to end chronic
homeless in King County. The campaign would fund housing
for as many as 1,000 chronically homeless people and will
do so outside of already existing government programs,
says Anita Kelley, the agency’s communications director.
The housing will include social services. Approximately
2,000 of King County’s estimated 9,500 homeless
people are chronically homeless.
