He hunts for white tailed deer in the forests of Washington among the scent of the evergreens and the animals that reside there. In the Puget Sound he fishes for salmon, taking the largest home to eat. Vendor of the Week Daniel Behremeier enjoys being outdoors. "I love it out there. The mountains. The woods. The wildlife."
Wilderness has been just out of reach for Behremeier for some time. "I haven't been able to go. I'm too poor."
Fired from his job doing maintenance on apartment buildings, Behremeier became homeless. "I was homeless for a year and a half. It was really challenging." In search of shelter he moved from his hometown of Puyallup to Seattle. "The shelters here helped me a lot."
Currently, Daniel has housing, and enjoys relaxing at home, watching Animal Planet, and cooking omelets, especially ham and cheese. "I like cooking a lot."
Another of his passions is fixing what is broken. He plans to move to a small town and find another job doing maintenance on apartments. "I did maintenance for six years so that's what I want to do again."
In the meantime he sells Real Change to keep occupied and have spending money. To his customers Behremeier says, "Hi!"
