Still using your analog TV to watch “Dancing with the Stars?’ Chances are, all that hoofing might look better with a digital signal.

And even if you don’t agree, pretty soon, you won’t have the option to choose: On June 12, all national TV signals will go digital.

With Seattle being a “hot spot” for those who may be unprepared for the changeover, the FCC has a plan. It intends to interrupt analog signals from anywhere to two to five minutes to alert viewers that soon, their favorite shows will become unavailable on analog. When will the one-time interruption occur? This Thurs., May 19, at an unannounced time.

This brief analog signal stoppage comes several weeks before the national switch, which will takes place June 12. By then, the FCC hopes the 4 percent of Emerald City denizens who aren’t currently ready will have become full-fledged children of the Digital Revolution.
