No One Is Illegal, an all-volunteer immigrant and refugee justice group based in Vancouver, British Columbia, will give a presentation on its efforts to combat environmental degradation, discrimination against migrant workers and displacement caused by gentrification on Sat., July 11, 7 p.m., at the Cascade People’s Center, 309 Pontius Ave. N., in Seattle.

The organization, founded in 2003, works on behalf of immigrants and refugees, including helping them develop their own capacity to attain justice and dignity for themselves. The visit to Seattle is aimed at fostering more cross-border immigrant and worker solidarity between Vancouver and Seattle.

The key issues that No One is Illegal sees in the Seattle area include the immigrant detention center in Tacoma, gentrification, racial profiling along the borders and the exploitation of undocumented workers.

Information on No One is Illegal can be accessed online at http://noii-van.resist.ca/.
