Greeting you from the grainy, flickering world captured by Super 8 film, she is waving: Glynda Goodness, Major, responsible for the safety of her passengers and her beloved planes. In one scene she administers a medical examination to a prospective pilot, placing the stethoscope on his heart to determine whether he is healthy enough to fly. In another she is in the pilot seat, navigating the blue skies above Lake Washington in a vintage blue Stinson with wide, friendly water pontoons.

These tentative scenes from “Crystal Clear Blue Skies” exist presently in imagination, a 300-page manuscript, and fifty 4:26 rolls of Super 8 film. However, with the dedication and hard work of Vendor of the Week Glynda Goodness, “Crystal Clear Blue Skies” may soon be coming to a theater near you.

When not filming the landing of the Blue Angels at Boeing Field or selling Real Change, Glynda is flying. With over 128 flights logged, she is hoping to reach 250 to be certified to carry cargo and passengers.

Once an Air Force pilot flying aerial reconnaissance missions between Alaska and Siberia, Glynda is aware of the responsibility and joy of aviation. Flying high over fields, ice-capped mountains, and rivers, she photographed burgeoning land development in the fjord system. Glynda considers herself lucky to be alive because in such rugged terrain “if you ever went down, survivability could be minimal…I was very fortunate that I never crashed.” So are we.

You can visit Glynda at the QFC on Broadway and Pike.
