Real Change is grateful to enjoy the financial support of over 1000 individuals, companies and foundations each year.
Please join us in thanking some our our most recent contributors:
• Over 800 donors invested in the success of our recently completed Winter Fund Drive, raising more than $178,000, including more than $105,000 in the last three weeks of the drive. Donations ranged in size from $5-$20,000, with $25-200 checks and online contributions making up most of the total. This drive is an amazing message that the work Real Change does matters and with this success we are inspired to give back our very best as we start out 2011.
• The Stansbury Family Foundation pledged $6000 towards general operating and program support. The Elmer L. and Eleanor J. Andersen Foundation contributed $4000 towards general operating and program support.
• The hundreds of donors from $1-$50,000 gift levels who built and ensured the success of the $200,000 Spring Fund Drive, including 4 wonderful and meaningful naming opportunities- The Michael Garcia Vendor Center (community donations), The Robert Hansen Computer Lab (PCC and community donations), The Charles and Dolores Shields Newsroom (by their daughter Kathryn Shields) and the Teri Porch Conference Room (by her children and grandchildren).
• A 2010 RealNetworks Foundation $10,000 grant for Independent Media and Freedom of Expression was awarded to Real Change. A special thanks to the staff at RealNetworks Foundation for their encouragement and support in the application and follow-up process.
Supporter Spotlight
Sitting at the 15th Annual 15 Forwards Breakfast in October, a new Real Change donor Pam Raphael was moved by the stories of vendors trying to make a change in their lives and was further inspired to make a change in her own. Pam needs to lose 125 pounds and in early 2010 she conceived of Real Change for Real Change to make her journey on the road to changing her life a way to raise money for Real Change.
