Sat., Aug. 16, 11:37 p.m., First Ave. Officers were dispatched to the listed location to investigate a report of a possibly high or intoxicated subject walking in traffic. They arrived and were met by Harbor Steps security, who showed them the male acting mental on the steps. Officers contacted the man who provided a name that came back with no record. He also gave them a couple of other names that came back with no record. The subject could not be still. When asked to sit on the ground he became somewhat confrontational. They were able to get him to sit on the ground, but he could not sit still. He kept talking and not making sense. He stated he had tried to go to Hempfest, and was bipolar and had been seen for mental health treatment before. He tried several times to walk away and had to be physically restrained. Officer called for an ambulance, and subject was transported to Harborview for a mental health evaluation.
Sun., Aug. 17, 4:50 p.m., Rainier Ave. S. An officer was dispatched to a report of an assault. He arrived and contacted the victim, a transient Black male aged 64 who stated he got off the bus from downtown and walked down Rainier Ave. He had walked about 50 meters when a group of Black males surrounded him and demanded money. He gave them all he had, and one suspect punched him in the eye. They then all began to hit him, and he fell to the ground. Suspects stole his wallet, and left him on the ground and walked away. He later went to Harborview for treatment.
Mon., Aug. 18, 11:31 p.m., NE 50th St. / University Way. Officers responded to a disturbance call about the subject, a transient white female aged 21, walking on University Way, cutting herself with a broken bottle. Officers contacted the subject, and she stated that she was cutting herself to stop the voices in her head. They were telling her to cut herself, and she had sustained multiple cuts to her arm, leg and finger. She also stated she had just been released from a 10-day hospital stay. Officers called for an ambulance, and she was transported to UW Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Tues., Aug. 19,. 4:32 p.m., Pike St. Transient Black male aged 49 was contacted for suspected narcotics activity, and was found to have an outstanding warrant. This was verified, and he was booked into king County Jail.
Tues., Aug. 19, 6:18 p.m., NE 50th St. Seattle Fire Department (SFD) requested police at the scene of an overdose. On police arrival the subject, a transient white female aged 19 had been loaded onto an SFD Medic Unit and was ready to be transported to UW Hospital. SFD advised officers that subject had taken several pills --it was not known exactly what type, but possibly vicodin. It was also reported that subject had been at Harborview Medical earlier in the day threatening suicide, but had been released.
