Sat., Oct., 18, 6:37 p.m., Union Gospel Mission, Second Ave. Ext S. Victim, a white female aged 39, called 911 to report a violation of a court order which she stated occurred in the Union Gospel Mission a few minutes prior. Victim was contacted on the corner of Second Ave. Ext. S. and S. Main, where she had called the police via payphone. Victim stated she had gone to the mission for breakfast and had encountered the subject inside. Subject was seated about 10 feet from her, but made no attempt to talk to her or make eye contact. Victim left and called the police, and officer advised her that even though she has an anti-harassment order against subject, he did not knowingly violate the order on this occasion. Officer explained that the suspect needs to approach or talk to victim to "knowingly" violate the order, not merely be at a location by coincidence. Victim then stated that suspect had approached her a few days ago and had knowingly talked to her. Victim did not call the police on that date. Officer advised that she needs to call the police anytime she is approached by suspect so it can be documented. Officer also notes that suspect and victim are both homeless, and frequent the same places that services are provided. An officer was sent to the Union Gospel Mission to speak to the suspect, but he had left the area.
Sat., Oct. 18, 9:28 p.m., Second Ave. / S. Yesler Way. An officer was dispatched to Second and Yesler, where Seattle Fire Department had already arrived. They were treating the victim of an assault, a transient Hispanic male aged 40, who was bleeding from the head. Victim was uncooperative, would not tell the officer what had happened, and refused to give his name. He stated that he just wanted a band-aid, and to be left alone. Officers spoke with bystanders also waiting to get into the Lazarus Center, and they told him that victim was approached by another male who hit him with an unknown object. Suspect then fled southbound. Victim was transported to Harborview for medical attention. Bystanders believe they may have seen both men at the center before. An area check for the suspect was negative.
Tues., Oct., 21, 9:08 p.m., Stewart St. Officer observed suspect, a transient Black female aged 43, walking on the street. He recognized her from previous encounters, and knew that she was under active supervision from the Department of Corrections (DOC.) He contacted the suspect, and a routine name check showed her clear of any outstanding warrants. She was still found to be active with the DOC, however, and was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
