Tues., Oct. 20, 5 p.m., St. John United Lutheran Church, Phinney Ave N. Complainant, a transient male, called 911 from the emergency room at Ballard Swedish Hospital to report an assault that had occurred yesterday evening. Complainant stated he had gone to St. John United Lutheran Church yesterday evening for the daily "bum feed" and after he got his food he found a place to sit at one of the tables set up for this meal. At this time an unknown suspect walked up to him and informed him that he was sitting at one of the "reserved" tables. Complainant inquired of the suspect if he meant the seat was reserved, or the whole table. For some reason this question upset the suspect, who then pushed the complainant with both hands off the bench and onto the floor. Complainant fell to the ground and landed on his hip. He said he got up and found somewhere else to sit. He did not appear injured, but stated he had bruised his hip. He did not know the identity of the suspect.
