You've probably heard by now that Seattle is creating a homeless campsite in response to Nickelsville, the roving encampment named for former mayor Greg Nickels. City officials will be seeking applications to manage the camp, a controversial project that was opposed by some of its Sodo neighbors. It's not clear who will oversee it, or whether Nickelsville residents will ever move in.
The city's planned homeless camp is, in other words, a hot potato.
