Ada’s will host an ongoing book club that looks to create space within community for discussing race. The literature chosen looks to address anti-Black racism. While the groups are discussion-based, there is no room for any disrespect or lack of respect, and all members are asked to come with an open mind to learning and relearning concepts and realities. The moderator, Nathalie M., will sometimes send discussion topics prior to the meetings; there is also room for participants to add intro curriculum, including articles to expand the discussion. At the link above, you can see the full list of books for 2020. So, if you’re looking to find a book club community or just for a great new reading list, check out Ada’s.

This monthly chat is a great resource for everyone, as learning about consent culture is something that affects us all. Whether you’re a teen or a senior, the importance of consent is still paramount in day-to-day life. The discussion will look at current consent culture in our communities and within ourselves. How consent can be affirmed or violated will also be discussed. The afternoon invites everyone who is ready to approach the discussion with an open mind. This will be a great space to build connections and take steps to create cultures of consent.
