Blanca Aguilera moved to Seattle nearly 40 years ago from Guatemala City, Guatemala. She has sold the paper for five years, during which time she became a citizen. She loves being a Real Change vendor because, she says, “the people are so nice. It’s like my family.” Aguilera sees the difference Real Change makes every time she makes a sale. “
When people do something for other people, they feel good,” she says, “I love my customers.” Blanca sells the newspaper at the Metropolitan Market or the Safeway in West Seattle.
