Mon., March 16, 3:41 p.m., 400 Mercer St., DSHS Vocational Rehab. Complainants/Staff members called 911 to report threats made by the subject, a transient black male aged 53. The report indicated subject had left the area. Officers arrived and spoke with the facility staff and counselors; they expressed concern that subject's mental and physical condition is deteriorating. Subject has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, suffers from a traumatic brain injury and is self-medicating with methamphetamine. He is not taking any other medication and is currently homeless. Subject became enraged today when he was not given a bus pass, and yelled and postured in a very intimidating manner. Complainants realized no crime had occurred, but wanted the incident documented. They stated that subject would not be able to get treatment at this location, and were advised to call 911 if subject returned.
Thurs., March 19, 12:49 p.m., 10th Ave S. Officer on patrol saw the suspect, a transient white male aged 54, sitting in the grassy area along the east side of 10th Ave. This is a high drug area and people often trespass on this state owned piece of property. Suspect was contacted and asked for his ID. He provided his ID, and officers ran his name via police computer. He was revealed to be active with the Department of Corrections (DOC) in Lacey. This was confirmed, and suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
Fri., March 20, 10:55 a.m., First Ave. Service Center. An officer was dispatched to a report of an assault outside the service center on Third Ave. Upon arrival officer met with the victim, a transient white female aged 24. She was crying, but related the following details. At around 10 a.m. subject was standing outside of the shelter wearing her friend's jacket. She indicated that she was holding it for her and had every intention of returning it. Victim stated that she saw her friend running up the sidewalk towards her, and before she could speak the friend yelled at her to return her coat. Victim removed the coat, and the two got into a screaming match. Suspect hit the victim on the arm with a closed fist and left the area. Victim declined medical assistance, and was given a ride to the Lutheran Compass Center.
Mon., March 23, 2:03 p.m., Queen Anne Ave N. Officer witnessed the suspect, a transient white male aged 41, standing on property on Queen Anne Ave. N. Officer knew from previous contacts that suspect had recently been trespassed from this same location. Suspect was contacted and identified, and a name check verified the previous trespass admonishment was valid through the end of 2009. Suspect was arrested for criminal trespass and booked into king County Jail.
Mon., March 23, 4:24 p.m., 400 block 2nd Ave. Ext. S. Suspect, a transient black male aged 44, was observed standing on the sidewalk drinking from a 24 oz. can of beer. Suspect was contacted, and was found to be under supervision of the DOC. This was verified, and suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
