Imagine a really long nose. A huge nose. A massive super-snout that can only be drawn in cartoon fashion. Imagine that this nose is mobile and can poke itself into every situation, at every opportunity, all the time. But the nose does not just poke itself into situations. Rather, the nose blows its snot all over every situation, and then it looks around and asks, “Who’s going to clean up this mess?”
The nose I’m talking about is the war policy of our country. You can currently see its snot flowing all over the mess it has made in Ukraine. Our peace-loving, cool-cat Nobel Peace Prize-winning hypocrite-in-chief, along with his gang of war-thumping Pentagon nihilists, led by the gold chains dangling out of the pockets of Wall Street hustlers, are ramping up for a new rumble. There’s plunder to be had in the breadbasket of Europe. And they aim to get them some. All it will cost is our tax dollars and the blood of the poor, but the latter doesn’t matter.
There is a certain order, a script if you will, to the war policy of American empire. First, chaos is created mostly through some form of economic pillaging. Any time you hear IMF loan, think of that as an eagle’s talons ripping the flesh off once meaty prey. As the victim begins to scream, gangs of thieves enter the treasury and loot it through austerity programs, each of them designed to enhance the wealth of plutocrats while weakening the assets of the employed class. A crisis is then manufactured, perhaps a terrorist incident or an eruption of civil war between factions or an outright invasion. The goal is anarchy, the absolute annihilation of a nation’s infrastructure so that all but the filthy rich suffer grievous, inconsolable pain and anguish.
At this point the militarized Pentagon becomes really aroused and, with Wall Street voyeurs who love to keep their hands clean, Pentagon officials pour increasing amounts of armaments into the situation. The bigger the pop the better. The more mayhem, the more arousal. This pretty much sums up the truth behind Ukraine, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. No noble cause there, just blood-lust and plunder. Perhaps the only real difference is that our rulers are now eviscerating the bodies of white-skins, which is a break from the traditional annihilation of brown-skinned folks. War arousal is addictive when it becomes normal. And the trouble with normal is that it always gets perverse.
But, hey, what’s all this really got to do with us? Sure, our tax money is being used, but we benefit from momentarily lower gas prices. And we still have sports, our jobs, our things and our money. We can still drink beer and do stupid stuff.
Anyone have a handkerchief?
