No, thank YOU!
Dear Real Change,
You inspire me! I’m a Seattlite at heart, moved to an assisted living place in Portland to be near family about 4 years ago. A granddaughter in Seattle brings me the latest RC whenever she comes to visit. You people are terrific — interested in what means most to me. I’m terminally ill and have given up donating to charities this year. But you…I can’t hold back. Keep up your good work — and thank you!

Ending homelessness
The June 8 edition of the Christian Science Monitor says “Utah has
reduced homelessness by 91 percent since 2005, and could eradicate it by the end of 2015. It has taken a new approach, prioritizing placement in affordable housing, in a shift from emergency relief to prevention that is saving Utah money. (Including health and jail costs, the state of Utah
spends about $19,208 per homeless person per year. Comparatively, its “Housing First” strategy provides a home and caseworker to that same person for $7,800.) Maybe Real Change could do some research on this program and see how it can work in Washington.
