The city’s Office of Housing announced the availability of $49.5 million to fund affordable housing projects in Seattle on July 6.
The money flows from a number of local and federal sources, including the 2016 Housing Levy, a bond sale and federal HOME and Community Development Block Grants. Incentive zoning and Mandatory Housing Affordability programs also played a role.
Over the past 36 years, the Office of Housing invested more than $495 million in creating and preserving affordable housing, which must remain affordable for at least 50 years.
Applications for the cash are due Sept. 12, and awards will be announced in December.
