City Hall released a survey requesting information about what attributes Seattleites want to see in two top accountability positions that will be the leading force behind police oversight and reform.
The two positions, director of the Office of Police Accountability (OPA) and inspector general, are part of police reform legislation passed by the City Council in May. OPA will investigate claims of police misconduct and recommend policy changes. The inspector general will audit OPA and the department.
The survey provides options such as “reputation for integrity and professionalism” and communications. It then includes an open-ended response.
