Vendor Program Associate
The Vendor Program Associate is a part time up to 30 hours/week or full time up to 40 hours/week (to be determined at the interview), non-exempt Union position reporting to the Vendor Program Director. This position is responsible for supporting vendors by maintaining a safe, welcoming and productive environment. Specifically, this position supports vendors by greeting people as they arrive, assisting them in reaching their paper selling goals, helping navigate programs at Real Change, and supporting participation in agency events. This position requires patience, attention to detail, a sense of humor, and the flexibility to be successful in a sometimes busy and fast-paced environment.
Primary roles and responsibilities:
Vendor Support (60%)
- Greet vendors and manage the help desk in the Vendor Center
- Sell papers to vendors at the sales desk
- Conduct orientations based on Authorized Vendor Guidelines with ability to promote restorative justice processes for vendors
- Support vendors to build relationships, resolve conflicts, and offer coaching
- Create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment
- Organizing and refilling snack cabinet; managing distribution of items
Program Support (25%)
- Coordinate vendor participation in Real Change events
- Answer community and vendor questions in person, on the phone and via email
- Maintain a clean and organized help desk and Vendor Center
- Provide support for opening and closing procedures, managing supplies, and maintaining health and safety standards
- Participate in weekly newspaper truck unload
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Administrative and Documentation (15%)
- Maintain records reflecting current, active vendors and appropriate corresponding paperwork for Vendor Database and physical filing
- Work collaboratively for Venmo allocation and documentation process using Excel and File Maker Pro to place allotted funds into vendor accounts
- Work collaboratively with other departments within Real Change
- Attend all staff and department-specific meetings as needed
- Maintain mail organization and notification of vendors

- Flexibility necessary to be successful in an unstructured, busy, and sometimes loud workspace
- Ability to lift 15 pounds repeatedly
This position may be part-time with a schedule of 28-30 hours/week, or may be full-time with a schedule of up to 40 hours/week. This will be determined with the employee at the time of the interview.

Compensation: $22/hour; non-exempt, and may be full-time or part-time to be determined at the time of interview. Benefit package includes Health and Dental coverage, 3 weeks’ vacation, 2 weeks’ sick time, 11 holidays, 403(b) Retirement Fund with a 4% Real Change contribution, and professional development funds. This position is represented by IBEW Local 89.
